Berry Preserves: Finding the Perfect Set
Thu, May 14 at 2:30pm
Candied Lemon & Citrus Syrup (A Beautiful Kitchen Staple). Learn to make glossy candied lemon peel and a fragrant citrus syrup you’ll use in drinks, desserts, and all summer long.
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transform fresh lemons into two versatile, beautiful elements: tender candied peel and a clear, aromatic syrup. These are simple techniques, but when done well, they become something quietly luxurious—ingredients you’ll reach for again and again.
We’ll go step by step through the process, learning how to balance bitterness and sweetness, and how to handle sugar with confidence so the results are clean, bright, and full of flavour. You’ll see how a single method can open up countless uses—from cocktails and sparkling drinks to cakes, fruit, and simple desserts.
You’ll leave with your own jar of candied citrus and syrup, along with ideas for using them effortlessly at home—whether to elevate something everyday or to create something a little special.
Susan teaches cooking with a focus on clarity, beauty, and confidence—helping people feel at ease with techniques that might otherwise seem intimidating.
This class takes place at Domecil, a thoughtfully designed space that brings together homeware, craft, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for small, hands-on experiences.
